Talib Mohammed Receives Seabrook's Leadership Award
Selected for his exceptional leadership qualities, Mohammed has a reputation for bringing out the best in his team.
Seabrook Retirement Community Executive Chef Talib Mohammed was honored this February as Seabrook’s nominee for Erickson Living’s 2017 leadership award at its corporate meeting in Baltimore, Maryland. Erickson Living is the developer/management company of Seabrook.
Selected for his exceptional leadership qualities, Mohammed has a reputation for bringing out the best in his team by creating an open, supportive and welcoming environment. As an executive chef for Seabrook’s Signature Dining Program, Mohammed helps oversee restaurant-style dining, from scratch cooking, daily menu options, in the moment cooking, and chef-inspired culinary creations.
“Congratulations to Talib on this well-deserved recognition,” said Seabrook Executive Director Paula Digerness. “He is a real asset to Seabrook and truly exemplifies the Erickson values of respect, caring, teamwork and excellence."

“Talib has created a sense of family in his kitchen that is palpable when one walks into his area,” said Director of Dining Services Mary Beth Sheehan. “He encourages and inspires his staff to be the best they can be every day which is essential to creating an engaged and high-performance team who are committed to excellence in serving our residents.”
Mohammed, a resident of Neptune, New Jersey, launched his career at Seabrook in 2002 as a utility worker. During this tenure, he attended culinary school and saw his career progress from prep cook to line cook to Chef de Cuisine, to his current role as Executive Chef. In addition, he is well-known on campus for his beautiful singing voice, and has performed on campus at Seabrook’s Talent Show, Seabrook Theatre productions, and other special events on campus.

“Talib shares his gifts to celebrate life with all of the community, making it a better place for us to live and work. We value and appreciate his smile, friendliness, work ethic, and dedication to Seabrook,” said General Manager of Seabrook’s Princeton Restaurant Beverly Kirsch, who works side by side with Mohammed.
