Thursday, January 2-Going to Eatontown Community Center

Today, I am heading over to the Eatontown Community Center at 72 Broad Street. Today we are going to talk about things to do for 2014. I h
ave been going there since I turned 55.
Used to be that was how old you had to be to go there, when it was the Senior Center. All that changed about two years ago and now it is the
Adult Center, Just don't pay attention to the sign on the lawn outside. Plus you do not have to live in Eatontown to go there.  The ECC does have a
bus that picks up and takes people to the center and home for events on Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays & Fridays. It is available free of charge to bring any Eatontown Adult to the Community Center for activities and to Shop-Rite Supermarket on Fridays for food shopping. Sorry no bus on Tuesdays.

There is a Knitting & Crocheting Club that meets there on Tuesdays.
I drive so you willl always find me there on Tuesdays.
Now me I do neither knitting or crocheting. But the others who come from Long Branch, West Long Branch, Red Bank, etc they do. They exchange patterns, discuss techniques and different yarns, show each other new methods and everyone admires the finished product. I go for the company and the companionship. Plus the fact that I now I have about seven beautiful scarves.

That's not all that goes on at the Center.  The activities include periodic lunches with home cooked meals, volunteer work, games and puzzles, speakers on various topics, special parties for birthdays and Holidays, entertainment, bingo every Friday and trips to Atlantic City,
cultural events, local restaurants and malls.

Be sure and stop by and see Betsy Hopler any day from Mon-Fri  between 8:30am-2:30pm and become a member. She will give you a calendar of events for that month.  Always make sure you register at least one week in advance for any activity you wish to attend in the registration book. You can call, 732-389-7666 or e-mail, adultprograms@eatontownnj.com.

Check out this month's calendar for what is going on for January 2014
I hope that you will join us, make yourself at home, enjoy the activities and make new friends. There is no membership fee.

The calendar also has a list of activities  that are part of the
Recreation Department. Some of these events are Zumba, Low Impact Aerobics, Yoga and more. For further info call Janice at 732-389-7664 or Kathi at 732-389-7607, anytime between, 8:30 AM – 4:30 PM, Monday thru Friday. Plus you can rent out the Center.
