Tuesday, January 14-Auditions for “The Imaginary Invalid.”

The Holmdel Theatre Company will hold auditions tonight for Moliere’s  comedy THE IMAGINARY INVALID, tonight  from 7 pm to 10 pm at  the Duncan Smith Theater, 36 Crawfords Corner Road, Holmdel.

This is the second night of auditions, call 732-946-0427 for further information on which roles are open. A Special Appearance Equity
Contract is available. Click to check out the Character descriptions and sides. Auditioners skilled in juggling, acrobatics, tumbling, hooping, or
playing stringed instruments are asked to come prepared to demonstrate.

Produced by Geoff Shields and Grace Modla and directed by Tom Frascatore, the play will run from March 28 – April 12, 2014.  Love, mistaken identity, foppery, slapstick, and a dash of cross-dressing are the cure for  what ails you in “The Imaginary Invalid.”

Every sitcom ever written can trace its lineage to Moliere, the French comic master who lampoons hypocrisy on all sides while letting us in on the joke. First performed in 1673, this fast-moving “comédie-ballet” treats the timely subject of healthcare, skewering gullible patients and the “doctors” who prey on them.
