West Long Branch Police Officer Hit By Car After Football Game: Reports

The officer was directing traffic; one person was taken into custody, according to the report.

A West Long Branch police officer was hit by a car while directing traffic after a high school football game on Friday night, according to reports.

The Asbury Park Press report said the officer was at the Parker Road entrance to Shore Regional High School when he was hit. A male was seen being taken into custody, the Press said. The officer’s condition was unknown.

The Monmouth County Police, Fire and EMS Facebook page reported the officer was taken to Jersey Shore University Medical Center, and that the Monmouth County Serious Collision Analysis Response Team (SCART) responded for investigation.
