Woman Distributed Crack Cocaine In Berkeley, Ocean Gate: OCPO

An Ocean Gate woman was charged with possessing and intending to distribute crack cocaine, officials said.

A woman was charged Friday with distributing crack cocaine in the Ocean Gate and Berkeley areas, the Ocean County Prosecutor's Office announced. Amanda Howland, 27, sold cocaine out of her Ocean Gate home, the OCPO said.

Several units executed a search warrant on her home, including members of the Ocean County Sheriff’s Department K-9 Unit, Ocean Gate Police Department and Berkeley Township Police Department, the OCPO said.

Howland was charged with possessing and intending to distribute less and half an ounce of cocaine, as well as intending to distribute cocaine within 500 feet of a recreational zone, the OCPO said. Recreational zones comprise of public housing facilities, public parks and public buildings.

She was taken to Ocean County Jail and is pending a detention hearing, the OCPO said.
