LONG VALLEY, NJ — A massive fire in Long Valley this week left a barn in shambles, fire officials say.
On Tuesday, around 8:30 p.m., fire crews were called out to the Fairmount section of town on reports of a structure fire. Crews arrived at the burning barn in four minutes, but the fire had already engulfed the building.
It took fire crews roughly seven hours to contain the blaze. By the end, the barn’s roof had completely collapsed, and the building was left unrecognizable.
No injuries were reported by fire officials.
Crews from Long Valley, Fairmount, Schooleys Mountain, Chester, Califon, and other mutual aid partners responded to the blaze.
It’s not clear at this time what ignited the fire.
