LONG VALLEY, NJ — Washington Township officials are set to consider more than $4.5 million in capital improvement projects during a special Township Committee meeting on Tuesday, June 29.

The agenda is dominated by three bond ordinances that are scheduled for second reading and public hearings, meaning they could receive final approval if adopted by the Township Committee.

Among the largest items is a $1.9 million bond ordinance to fund Phases 1 and 2 of the Pleasant Grove Road improvement project. Township officials are expected to hold a public hearing before voting on the measure.

Committee members will also consider:

A $1.31 million bond ordinance to finance road improvements in the Warwick Estates development.
A $1.31 million bond ordinance to purchase a new pumper fire engine, including its original apparatus and equipment.

In addition to the capital projects, officials are expected to introduce an ordinance amending the township's traffic code concerning stop intersections. The ordinance would receive its first reading Tuesday and, if introduced, would return for a public hearing and final vote during the committee's July 20 meeting.

The committee is also scheduled to vote on a resolution authorizing an extension of an addendum to the shared services agreement for firefighting services between Washington Township and Tewksbury Township. Another resolution addresses appointments and adjustments, though the agenda does not provide additional details.

Residents wishing to comment on agenda items will have an opportunity to do so before committee action, with a general public comment period also scheduled before the meeting adjourns.
