Farm-To-Table Italian Eatery Opens In Long Valley

LONG VALLEY, NJ — Lovers of Italian cuisine now have a new place to satisfy their cravings, as a new eatery has opened its doors in Long Valley.

FIG Rustic Italian Kitchen is now open and ready for hungry customers to try its authentic Italian dishes. Located at 71 East Mill Road, the restaurant held a soft opening on Sunday and is now open for business.

FIG's menu draws from regions in Italy including Piedmont, Lombardy, Veneto, and Tuscany, with each dish telling "a story of Italy’s warmth, resourcefulness, and love for the table."

"Our cooking style emphasizes slow, intentional preparation—honoring the techniques passed down through generations," a FIG statement read. "We work with seasonal ingredients, simple preparations, and time-honored methods like braising, roasting, and dough fermentation to bring out the depth and soul of each dish."

The menu offers a plethora of Italian eats, including Cacio e Pepe, Mediterranean Bronzino, Prime Bavette, and plenty more. Diners can also enjoy several types of artisan pizzas as well as desserts, including Farmhouse Olive Oil Cake and Vanilla Bean Crème Brûlée.

Customers' meals can also be accompanied by a wide choice of specialty cocktails, including the English Samurai, featuring London Dry Gin, sake, blueberry, mint, and soda, or the The Big Fuss, made with blanco tequila, basil, mint, cilantro/pineapple cordial, wild chaga, and lime.

There are also spritzes, Negronis, several wine options, and beer, some of which is locally brewed.

"At FIG, our cocktail program is an extension of our kitchen. Every drink is thoughtfully composed using premium spirits, house-made cordials, fresh herbs, botanicals, and carefully selected ingredients to create balanced, layered flavors," a social media post read. "Rooted in classic technique and inspired by the seasons, each cocktail is crafted with the same attention to quality, simplicity, and hospitality that defines every plate we serve."

The restaurant has been met with rave reviews from customers, with one diner calling it her "new favorite spot."

"Fig is my new favorite spot! The quality of the food is exceptional; you can really taste the difference that fresh, clean, high-quality ingredients make," the 5-star review wrote. "The ambiance is warm, stylish, and inviting. Their craft cocktails are just as impressive as the food. I can’t recommend Fig enough."
