Warrants, False Information Charges: Long Valley Police Blotter

Police reported three recent incidents involving outstanding warrants and allegations that people provided false information to police.

WASHINGTON TOWNSHIP, NJ — Police reported several recent arrests and charges stemming from traffic stops in and around Washington Township, according to the department's police blotter.

In one incident, an officer stopped a vehicle on County Route 513 in Califon Borough for an alleged motor vehicle violation, police said.

During the stop, the officer determined that the driver, a man from New Jersey, had an active traffic warrant for his arrest, according to police.

The man was taken into custody and later released with a new court date, police said.

In a separate incident, the Washington Township Police Department was notified by Bridgewater police that an adult man had been taken into custody during a motor vehicle stop and was found to have an active NCIC warrant out of Washington Township.

Washington Township officers responded to Bridgewater, took custody of the man and transported him to the Morris County Correctional Facility, police said.

Police also reported an incident stemming from a traffic stop on U.S. Route 46.

An officer stopped a vehicle for an alleged motor vehicle violation and determined during the investigation that both the driver and passenger had provided false information to the officer, according to police.

The driver, a New Jersey woman, was charged with providing false information to law enforcement and transported to the Morris County Correctional Facility, police said.

The passenger, an adult also from New Jersey, was also charged with providing false information to law enforcement, according to police.
