The officer pulled the car over and, when approaching the driver's side, spotted two handguns in the front seat, officials said.

A search of the car also yielded hollow point ammunition, police said.

The driver, a man, was arrested and charged with unlawful possession of a weapon and possession of hollow point ammunition.

He was processed and later released to await court proceedings.
