Property Fraud Workshop Coming To Long Valley

Morris County Clerk Ann Grossi will explain deed fraud and how homeowners can protect their property from scams.

LONG VALLEY, NJ — Long Valley residents can learn how to protect their homes from property and deed fraud during a free workshop next month.

Washington Township Recreation will host Morris County Clerk Ann F. Grossi for a Property Alert Workshop on Oct. 15 at 11:30 a.m. at the Washington Township Community Center, 35 East Springtown Road in Long Valley.

During the presentation, Grossi will explain how property and deed fraud can occur and discuss steps homeowners can take to reduce their risk of becoming victims of real estate scams.

The workshop will also highlight the Morris County Clerk's Office's free Property Alert Service, which allows property owners to receive notifications related to documents recorded under their names.

The program is free, but advance registration is required by Oct. 8.
