Vote By Mail/Drop Box

Residents can also vote by mail in the 2026 General Election.

Those wishing to receive a mail-in ballot must submit an application by Tuesday if applying by mail. Applications can also be submitted in person at the Morris County Clerk's Office until 3 p.m. Nov. 2.

Mail-in ballots began going out Sept. 19, so residents already enrolled in the county's vote-by-mail program should generally have received theirs.

Completed ballots can be returned in three ways:

• By mail: Ballots must be postmarked by Nov. 3 and received by the Morris County Board of Elections by Nov. 9. Ballots received without a postmark must arrive by Nov. 5.
• By secure drop box: Voters can use any of the county's designated ballot drop boxes before 8 p.m. Nov. 3. Washington Township has a drop box outside the police department's front entrance at 1 East Springtown Road.
• In person: Completed ballots can be delivered to the Morris County Board of Elections at 10 Court Street, second floor, Morristown, before 8 p.m. Nov. 3.

Voters cannot return completed mail-in ballots at their Election Day polling places or early voting locations.

Mail-in ballots can also be tracked online. Voters may need to create an account first.
