• VYING FOR GLORY: 20 NY/NJ teams will try to reach Open Cup (frontrowsoccer.com) — Lyndhurst's own New Jersey Alliance FC will compete this fall in Open Cup qualifying, facing regional rivals for a shot at the 2027 Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup. They're one of 20 New York–New Jersey amateur and semi-pro teams entering a four-round gauntlet starting September 12-13.
   

• American Dream faces $25M tax fight with Meadowlands towns (therealdeal.com) — Lyndhurst is among 11 municipalities seeking $387,500 each from the American Dream megamall in a growing $25 million tax dispute over when local payments became due. East Rutherford, Carlstadt, Secaucus and other nearby towns say long-promised payments tied to the mall's opening and leasing have never arrived, while the mall's owners argue they owe far less and only to the host town.
