11 Madison High School Seniors Earn National Merit Recognition

MADISON, NJ — Eleven Madison High School seniors are celebrating a major academic achievement after earning recognition through the National Merit Scholarship Program.

Madison High School announced Friday that Nathan Beland, Lucas Cohen, Clara Creteau, Brooke Gundlach, Georgia Mock, Thomas Monville, Molly O’Rourke, Sharon Park, Christopher Wu, Maheen Yasin and Ethan Yoesting were named Commended Students in the 2027 National Merit Scholarship Program.

The students placed among the top 50,000 high-performing participants who took the 2025 Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test.

About 34,000 students nationwide are designated Commended Students, according to the National Merit Scholarship Corporation.

The corporation says Commended Students receive Letters of Commendation recognizing their "outstanding academic promise."
