13 Best Hospitals In New Jersey: U.S. News and World Report's New Rankings

U.S. News and World Report on Tuesday released its list of the best hospitals across the country. The top-ranking hospital in New Jersey was Hackensack University Medical Center.

No New Jersey hospitals made the top 20 nationwide list.

The rankings looked at how each hospital performs across different specialties, procedures and conditions. To compile the rankings, U.S. News and World Report used several different objective measurements such as patient survival, number of patients and staffing numbers. The publication also used survey data from qualified physicians, who were asked to name the top five hospitals in their specialty.

Thirteen hospitals in New Jersey were ranked by U.S. News and World Report. Here is the list:

2. Morristown Medical Center, Morristown
3. Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, New Brunswick
4. Jersey Shore University Medical Center, Neptune
5. TIE: AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center, Atlantic City
6. TIE: Valley Hospital, Ridgewood
7. Englewood Hospital and Medical Center, Englewood
8. TIE: Ocean Medical Center, Brick
9. TIE: St. Joseph's Regional Medical Center, Paterson
10. TIE: St. Peter's University Hospital, New Brunswick
11. TIE: University Medical Center of Princeton at Plainsboro, Plainsboro
