MADISON, NJ — The Madison Police Department recognized several officers and programs at its 2026 awards ceremony, honoring exceptional service across a range of areas including lifesaving actions, narcotics investigations, and community outreach.
The Rose City Outreach Award was presented to the Every 15 Minutes program, recognizing those who developed, implemented, or facilitated the initiative. The award honors programs that better the community.
Detective Sergeant Kenneth Shannon, Detective Jerald Mantone, and Detective Jonathan Finocchiaro received the Drug Buster Award for their work on a successful narcotics criminal investigation.
Two Life Saving Awards were presented this year, each recognizing officers whose "prompt, alert, and decisive actions directly resulted in saving a life."
Sergeant Bartlomiej Glab and Patrolman T.J. Meder received the first award. The second was presented to Sergeant Julian Morales and Patrolman Andrew Marra.
Patrolman Nelson Jimenez received the Meritorious Service Award, which recognizes a creditable act performed in the line of duty that "is unusual in nature and demonstrates exceptional initiative and accomplishment."
Patrolman Michael Lagravenis received the Academy Achievement Award, which honors recruits who distinguish themselves through exceptional performance in academics, physical fitness, firearms proficiency, leadership, and overall excellence following graduation from the Basic Police Course.
The department said it is "proud to recognize Patrolman Lagravenis for this accomplishment and his commitment to excellence from the very start of his law enforcement career."
