MADISON, NJ — Seven home improvement projects are scheduled to go before Madison's Zoning Board of Adjustment this week, with property owners seeking variances for additions, renovations and other proposed work.
The board will meet virtually at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, September 10, according to the borough's meeting calendar. The public may join through the Zoom link provided on the calendar page.
One application involves an addition and renovation at 9 Highview Terrace. The proposal requires relief from minimum left-side and rear-yard setbacks, principal building coverage and maximum impervious coverage requirements, according to the board's current agenda. The application also seeks relief concerning an attached garage facing a public street, which the agenda identifies as prohibited.
At 150 Green Avenue, an addition and renovation would require variances for both side-yard setbacks and impervious coverage. An application for 64 Shadylawn Drive proposes an addition, front entry portico and rear deck requiring relief from building coverage, impervious coverage and the portico's front-yard setback.
The board is also scheduled to consider applications for additions at 19 Walnut Street and 73 Glenwild Road. Both require relief from principal building coverage limits and were carried from the board's August meeting.
Plans at 31 Rosemont Avenue include an addition, portico and stair-entry modifications. At 12 Parkside Avenue, proposed work includes a brick-paver walkway, a 20-foot-wide asphalt driveway and a change to a proposed deck that would preserve the existing patio.
The applications involve zoning rules governing setbacks and the amount of each property that may be covered by buildings or impervious surfaces.
The borough's meeting notice says official action may be taken.
