MADISON, NJ — Drivers traveling Route 124 through Madison should prepare for detours and delays as overnight paving gets underway.
The New Jersey Department of Transportation, through contractor Schifano Construction, has begun overnight paving along the Madison portion of Route 124, according to a borough update.
The work extends from Division Street to Alexander Avenue, beginning at intersections before moving to the westbound shoulder, eastbound shoulder, westbound travel lane and finally the eastbound travel lane.
During active construction, parking will be restricted in posted work areas, while detours and changing traffic patterns are expected.
The borough is asking drivers and residents to watch for temporary No Parking signs and other posted traffic restrictions.
The schedule may change depending on weather, field conditions and work progress. The borough said it will share additional updates once more detailed scheduling information is available from NJDOT and its contractor.
