Nearly 70 children participated in the first annual Halloween Costume Giveaway, co-sponsored by the Thursday Morning Club (TMC) and the Rotary Club of Madison on Saturday, October 10th, at the Madison Community House.
The free event offered children of all ages the opportunity to choose a Halloween costume and enjoy crafts, mind teasers, indoor and outdoor games, and light refreshments. The event aimed to ease the financial burden of Halloween costumes for local families while giving children a fun and memorable start to the Halloween season.
The event's success was made possible by the generosity of costume donors, the support of community partners, and the many volunteers who contributed their time and talents. Party City and local community members donated costumes, while Affinity generously provided storage. Madison Rotary assisted with promotion, refreshments, costume transportation, and volunteers. TMC members handled costume sorting, activities, registration, refreshments, and community outreach. Two volunteers from the Inter-Act Club also joined the effort, helping make the event a wonderful community collaboration.
The Thursday Morning Club owns and operates the Madison Community House, a vital community resource that provides space for programs, events, and organizations that bring Madison together. Through its ongoing service initiatives and community partnerships, TMC works to keep the House thriving and accessible for future generations. Supporting the Thursday Morning Club means supporting the Madison Community House and the many ways it serves our community.
