Madison Dental Hygienist is a Cover Girl!

Kelly Olsen, a Madison dental hygienist, is featured on the cover of the July issue of RDH Magazine, a national publication for dental hygienists.  

Kelly, who practices at in Madison, explains in the article in RDH Magazine that she chose dental hygiene as a career because she wanted to "know my patients, build a relationship and share my knowledge to promote total body health".  

She began her professional career in pediatrics and orthodontics and treating mentally and physically disabled children, including those with autism, has become her passion. In 2008, she joined a mobile dental team, bringing access to care to New Jersey’s inner city and rural school children.

Kelly volunteers annually for Give Kids a Smile Day and in the National Multiple Sclerosis Society’s “Walk MS” as captain of her team, “The Invincibles.” She has earned her wings time and time again as an avid supporter of the National Children’s Oral Health Foundation; America’s Toothfairy. She is enthusiastic about educating her patients and the public about oral cancer and the importance of oral cancer examinations.  She is a devoted supporter of The Oral Cancer Foundation.

Eager to share her knowledge of dentistry with children, Kelly has written a children's book on visiting the dentist and is in discussions with a publisher to print the book.
