The Madison Area YMCA is excited to announce more of its outdoor aquatics programming offerings at both the Florham Park Municipal Pool and Chatham Fish and Game, both of which continue to host training for the Y’s competitive Mariners Swim Team.

With health and safety as our top priority, we are reintroducing aquatics programming in phases. Soon, we will have additional aquatics programs available including outdoor lap swim, Masters sessions, Group Exercise Water Aerobics, and private lessons.

Aqua Zumba® will run on Mondays from 8 a.m. to 9 a.m. at the Florham Park Municipal Pool beginning July 27. This class is for Madison Area YMCA members only and pre-registration is required. Aqua Zumba blends the Zumba® philosophy with water resistance. There is less impact on joints during an Aqua Zumba class so one can really benefit. Water creates natural resistance, which means every step is more challenging and helps tone muscles.

Masters Swim Clinic will run on Tuesdays and Thursdays at Chatham Fish & Game, in Chatham, from 6 a.m. to 7 a.m. beginning July 28. Madison Area YMCA Masters is a masters swimming program offering adults more opportunities for various swimming workouts. Through the guidance from our experienced coaches, learn new tips, and drills covering all four swim strokes. If you are preparing for a meet, open water swimming, or want to improve your endurance or technique, the Madison Area YMCA Masters program is a productive and fun way to achieve goals in a supportive and friendly environment!

Competitive Aquatics Director Jon Siegel shares, “We are so excited to be able to offer more aquatics programs in a safe and socially distanced manner. We are looking forward to getting more members back in the pool and can’t wait to see everyone again soon!”
