As the Weather Warms Up, So Does Dodgers' Wallace
Madison pitcher picture-perfect in win against Dover.
Starting pitcher Mike Wallace has been lights out all season and on Saturday, the junior added his most impressive outing of the year as he threw a five-inning perfect game, as the Dodgers rolled past Dover, 14-0.
“He had everything going for him that game,” Madison head coach Mickey Ennis said. “He threw as hard as he has all year, and although Dover isn’t one of the elite teams in the conference or county, I’m pretty confident that he would have beaten most teams on Saturday.”
Utilizing what Ennis described as his best curveball of the season, Wallace struck out 10 consecutive batters, on his way to 11 K’s total in just five innings of work.

While the plan was to limit Wallace to 60 pitches or four innings in preparation for a conference start against Parsippany on Thursday, Wallace forced his manager's hand as he headed back to the dugout with a flawless game after four innings.
Wallace headed back out in the fifth and recorded a 1-2-3 inning, as he threw 53 total pitches to improve to 4-0 with 29 strikeouts, just three walks and a 2.00 ERA.

“This guy is literally throwing as well as most pitchers in the county right now,” Ennis said. “He’s heating up for us just at the right time and has really now taken over the role as ace pitcher of our staff.”
Wallace will take the mound once again on Thursday as the Dodgers face Parsippany in a conference game.
