The August Symphony Orchestra Presents Free Concert in the Park
Family-friendly classical music concert July 25 at 1:30 in the Loop Pavilion of Watchung Reservation with nearby playground and restrooms
The August Symphony Orchestra (TASO) will perform a free outdoor concert of classical music on Sunday, July 25 at 1:30 pm at the Loop Pavilion of the Watchung Reservation in Mountainside. Under the baton of conductor Michael Avagliano, the program features engaging music by Beethoven, Debussy, Elgar, Saint-Saëns, and Weber.
“This is a program for the whole family,” said Michael Avagliano, music director of TASO. “We invite all music lovers to bring their lawn chairs, a picnic lunch and enjoy the afternoon.”
Michael Avagliano enjoys a multifaceted career as conductor, performer, and educator. He currently serves as music director for The August Symphony Orchestra, the Summit Symphony, the Central Jersey Symphony Orchestra and is on the faculty of Drew University.

“We want to continue the great musical experience The August Symphony Orchestra has provided for the past 16 years, offering an accessible way for classical orchestral music to be appreciated by all,” states Bob Whiteley, president of TASO. “Our outdoor concert presents a safe way to enjoy live classical music, and we are proud to continue uninterrupted despite the circumstances.”
The pavilion is adjacent to the Loop Playground in the Watchung Reservation, located at W.R. Tracy Road in Mountainside. Parking and restrooms are nearby.

The August Symphony Orchestra (TASO) is a non-profit organization whose objective is to enrich the Garden State community by offering an accessible way for classical orchestral music to be performed, listened to, and appreciated by all.
