Award-winning Composer, Guitar Virtuoso Perform in Summit Concert

On Sunday, May 1 at 3 p.m., The New Jersey Intergenerational Orchestra, under the direction of Joe Gluck, will present a Spring Concert at Summit High School, 124 Kent Place Boulevard, in Summit.

The concert is free to the public and will premier, Concerto for Guitar and Orchestra, written by 17-time ASCAP award-winning composer, Victor Kioulaphides. Guitar virtuoso and solo guest artist, Christopher Kenniff, a Summit resident, will perform the Concerto for Guitar and Orchestra with the NJIO Symphony.

The concert includes works by Vivaldi, Gounod and Stravinsky, as well as on-stage interviews with the composer and solo guest artist. After the concert, the audience can meet Kioulaphides and Kenniff, who will have his CDs available for purchase. 

NJIO produces three, free concerts each year to provide appreciation of classical music throughout neighborhood communities in north central New Jersey. NJIO is a non-profit organization known for bridging the generations through music where intergenerational musicians of all ages and skill levels come together to experience the joy of making music. Professional musicians work alongside members as mentors, enabling NJIO to blend a high vision of artistic excellence with strong educational components in a non-competitive musically challenging atmosphere.
