An Interview With the Anonymous Creator of @dodgerproblems

I was able to conduct a brief, anonymous interview with the unidentified inventor behind the mysterious Twitter account labeled, Madison High School @dodgerproblems.

For the better half of this school year, Madison High School students and faculty members have been investigating the realms of Twitter in an attempt to uncover the answer to the eminent question: who is @dodgerproblems?

This enigmatic online user created an anonymous Twitter account entitled Madison High School @dodgerproblems (in recognition of the school mascot, the Dodger) approximately six months ago, and has periodically posted witty statuses that are relevant to student life at Madison High School since then. Almost immediately following its creation, the account accumulated nearly three hundred followers on Twitter, which was just a handful of those who instantly enjoyed reading @dodgerproblems’ hysterically honest and sharp observations and commentary about all aspects of MHS. As a result, the high school began to bustle with rumors and inquiries about who exactly is responsible for the clever and humorous commentary about beloved teachers, ambiguous dress codes, and infamous exams. Despite pressing interrogations of students suspected of being the furtive account user, the true identity of @dodgerproblems still remains undisclosed.

I took the opportunity to contact the mastermind behind the operation through the inscrutable Twitter account, and was fortunate enough to elicit an enthusiastic response from the unidentified student, who was eager to answer my questions. Posted beneath is a short interview that I was able to conduct with the esteemed creator of the @dodgerproblems account via personal messages on Twitter.

Q: Why did you decide to create the @dodgerproblems account?

A: I had heard about other schools (Chatham High School, in particular) having these types of twitter accounts, and I thought it would be funny if I started one up for our high school. I was really nervous at first but after I came up with a few ideas I thought might as well just try it out. I didn't think it would get this big but I'm really happy everyone enjoys it.

Q: Did you think that the account would become such a huge mystery within MHS when you first created it?

A: I had no idea that it would become such a big deal when I first made it. During the first week that I made it, I remember everyone was talking about it and I was freaking out because I was so nervous that I wouldn't be able to keep up with it. I'm just really glad everyone else gets a kick out of it just as much as I do.

Q:  Are you the only person who contributes to the updates, or do you have help?

A: One or two people know about it and they will give me a few suggestions every once in awhile.

Q: There have been quite a few rumors around MHS about who is responsible for the account. Has anyone suspected you of being @dodgerproblems, or have you been able to remain under the radar?

A: No one has suspected me of being @dodgerproblems, which I find pretty hilarious. I guess no one thinks I'm clever enough. I like it that way though; it makes it easier for me to keep it a secret.

Q: Is it difficult to keep quiet about your secret when people talk about it in school?

A: It does get really hard to keep it a secret. There have been so many times when I've wanted to tell someone just to see what kind of reaction I would get. I always freak out when people talk about it in school cause I'm nervous it will slip or people will suspect me of it when I talk to them about it. However, I've been pretty good about keeping my mouth shut so I hope I'll be able to keep it up.

Q: Do you plan on revealing yourself to the school? If so, do you have any plans for when and how?

A: I have thought a lot about whether or not to reveal myself. I'm really not sure when or if I will ever do it. I just feel like if it wasn’t a mystery anymore, it might ruin the fun of it. So at the moment I think I might just keep it a secret.

The person responsible for the comical remarks which make up the @dodgerproblems Twitter account seems to experience entertainment and satisfaction as a result of the desperate and chaotic search by the student and faculty population at Madison High School in order to piece together the puzzle to determine the identity of the clandestine individual. While the inquirers may not be making any progress in solving the mystery, they still are still provided with a few hearty laughs from updated posts by the covert comedian in charge of the amusing enterprise that is @dodgerproblems.
