The sun did its best to dry out the soggy puddles on Saturday as the Madison Flag Football program slogged onto Dodge Field. The youthful banter of who was going to be getting a closer look at the mud was louder than the murmuring Moms envisioning a mountain of laundry once they got home. After the first pair of bright , white pants took on the fall colors of brown and green, the players were free to concentrate on their game plan so constructively laid out by their respective coaches. Many cheers could be heard throughout the morning as players ran for long gains, completed one of an arsenal of passes or defended their goal with stringent, impenetrable defense. These now veteran players have improved tremendously in the few short weeks they’ve been practicing, and every coach will admit the greatest reward is watching these athletes continue to bring their best effort to every play. Some of this weeks standout players on offense were Greg Randall,Andrew Carreno, Kevin McIntyre, Chase Hanson, Nick Hanna, Mike Pipoli, Luke D’Ambola, Luke Decker, Brennan Cullis, Jack Mcguire, Jackson Koehler, Logan DePaul, Noah Rega, Owen Dwyer, Tim Anderson, Nate McKenna and Will McGinty.
On Defense, we saw great plays by Colin Faraher, Colin Feledy, Mike Delavan, Justin Morales, Cole and Jack Eckhard, Ethan Cowan, Tim Garrity, Giovanni Collins, Aniello Vacchiano, Casey O’Sullivan, Chris Carfano, Gavin Heck, Jack Catchpole, Jack O’Donnell, Joey DeMarzo, Justin Slabaugh, Matthew Spagnoletti, Scotty Spelker, Vincent Finelli, Sebastian Occhino and Nick McKenna.

When it was all over, the players shook hands and walked off the field, more closely resembling the mud coated characters of the Thriller video.
