I Don't Know How He Does it?

Men do their fair share ...

Sarah Jessica Parker stars in a movie with a very similar title than my humble blog entry. My wife and daughter are very eager to see it when it opens this weekend.

But really, in 2011, do we really need to hear a story of a working woman trying to manage home, work and love?

Please. We all have to deal with that. Unless you are one of the 1 percent who can afford to not work. OK, gotta remember my demographic, make that 50 percent for Madison folk.

You get my point. And let's stop with the gender stereotypes while we are at it.

This week I have worked in the city every day but one. I have nursed my wife back to health as she is laid up with a torn calf muscle. I have gone to back to school nights, and played pick-up basketball, and taken my daughter to a concert in Montclair, and helped her with homework, and cooked, and done laundry, and this and that, and just about whatever it takes to get through the week.

Maybe I am just bitter because Parker continues to make movies after the much overrated and over-hyped "Sex and the City" series and films. Or maybe I am just too damn tired.

I do know this: I have to run to pick up my daughter from soccer practice, feed her dinner and get her a shower, make sure her homework is done, and head back to NYC for a concert.

Get busy living, or get busy dying. And stop supporting bad Hollywood movies! Haven't we all had enough cliches and remakes?

Go see Contagion this weekend or maybe Blondie at http://www.ucmusicfest.com/. Free music and/or smart filmmaking.
