As we continue to revel in the wonderful news about Bin Laden, let's not forget that we have a very special weekend coming up, and I'm not talking about the Kentucky Derby. Rather, I am referring to Mother's Day, maybe the most sensible and important day that we celebrate each year. If we are truly honest with ourselves, we will all admit that our Mothers are the ones who make everything go, and that if our family is a "team", then Mom is that one indispensable player, our true MVP.
It's been nearly four years since my Mom has passed, and there isn't a day that goes by that I don't miss her terribly. But I'm lucky because my Mother-in-law, whom I adore, has helped to fill that void in my life. My dad always told me while I was growing up that "your mother is the best friend you'll ever have", and he was right. So, this Sunday, tell your Mother that you love her, and thank her for everything she does for you. Remember, you only get one. Happy Mother's Day, Madison Moms.
