St. Vincent Martyr 4^th grade Boys Basketball Ends Great Season With Win

The St. Vincent Martyr 4^th Grade Boys Basketball team finished its successful season with an all-out team effort against a formidable St. Pius of Montville. The Eagles were the visiting team on Saturday 2/23 in a bleacher packed Montville gym that brought out the best in both teams as they squared off for the final showdown, culminating a talented, well coached season for the Eagles with a record of 10-6.

Head Coach Charlie Pavlounis may have had some reservations at the onset of the season, as 27 untested players showed up for the first practice, but he and his staff patiently instructed and molded a team that learned to play together and utilize each athletes forte. The entire coaching staff should be commended for their hard work and diligence in creating true sportsmen and teammates in their quest to be competitive, and as the final seconds wound down, it was evident their season was a resounding accomplishment.

We graciously acknowledge the Coaching staff and players with our thanks and praises and look forward to next season. They are: Head Coach Charlie Pavlounis, assistants Frank Bergin, Andrew Merkl, John McIntyre, Steve Penders, and Rob Yaremko.
