Contra is the perfect social dance for new dancers. The beginners' lesson at the start is all you need to enjoy your first evening of dancing. Contra dancing is a fun, easy-to-learn style of social dance in a supportive, inter-generational, inclusive community. It's the cool cousin to square dancing -- with hot live bands.
Come for our evening dance on any 1st and 3rd Saturday of the month. Knowing how to dance is not necessary since the caller conducts a walkthrough and prompts the moves and guides the dancers. A lesson at 7pm provides basic terminology and dance moves. It's fine to come alone since folks switch partners between each dance. This is an excellent opportunity to learn from more experienced contra dancers.
