Civic Service A Feel-Good Activity For This Achiever
In this new weekly feature, we spotlight a Madison High student who leads Rotary's international service club for young people.

Patch Whiz Kid of the Week:
- Jack Conley, 16
- Madison High School
- Interact Club President
- Jack, the son of Madison Borough Councilman Robert Conley, Jr., volunteers his time because "I genuinely have fun doing it and I feel good at the end." He joined the Madison YMCA Leaders Club in his freshman year where he got his start volunteering "and I never stopped." Jack joined Interact, one of many community clubs he is a part of, because he was friends with the previous president "and I saw the good work they were doing, not just in the community, but internationally as well and I knew that I had to be a part of it." Among Interact's initiatives is the Buy-A-Net Project, which has been raising awareness of the malaria epidemic in Uganda and the threat it poses to its citizens. Jack volunteers several times a month, usually for several hours each time. "I don't know what my volunteering will mean for me later on in life, all I know is I want to continue to help people not just in my free time, but hopefully as a career as well," he says.
