Madison Boys Soccer Shuts Down Parsippany
Dodgers bounce back from season-opening loss with a one-goal victory.
After last week's disappointing shutout against Morris Hills, the Madison High School boys soccer team delivered a 1-0 shutout of its own against Parsippany Tuesday.
The lone goal of the game was scored by midfielder Danny Giraldo in the first half. Although the Dodgers were against the wind in the first half, coach Gary Adair said the wind seemed to have an opposite effect on the game.
"It seemed that the team that had the wind seemed to struggle more than the team against it," Adair said. "We scored our goal when the wind was against us and played better in the first half as well."

Madison controlled the game at the start of the first half, but the Dodgers had difficulty keeping possession of the ball.
Although Adair was pleased with the win, he had mixed feelings about the team's performance.

"Our performance was patchy, if you'll pardon the pun," Adair said. "I think when we play well we play well, but the second half we let up some things we shouldn't have. I think I'm going to have to chalk it up to them being tired."
Adair did have praise for his team as well.
"I think everyone did OK," he said. "I was impressed with Freddie [Wynne]. He hasn't played for a while, he's been injured, but he made a good showing. And of course Dan Giraldo, that was a really good goal, you can't take anything away from him for that."
The Dodgers will look to follow up their win with another at Morris Catholic on Monday at 4 p.m.
