Swinging at Downtown Concert Series

Kati & The Little Swing Band perform on the lawn of the Museum of Early Trades & Crafts.

Kati Beddow Brower & The Little Swing Band turned in two bluesy sets on the lawn of the as the Downtown Concert series continued Friday night.

Brower, who also works for the museum, belted out blues standards like "Hound Dog," "Sweet Home Chicago," and "Big Boss Man," paying tribute to blues legends like Willie Mae "Big Momma" Thorton, Elmore James and Robert Johnson. 

Families picnicked on the lawn, while other concert goers sat in the chairs in the street. Residents said they've been enjoying the summer night air and the free music.

The bi-weekly series continues until the end of September. The Frost Kings will appear Aug. 19 at 6 p.m.
