MADISON, NJ — Madison Police made multiple arrests between Jan. 8 and Jan. 21, including for assault, drugs, and warrants. Read about recent police activity, as written by police, here:

On 1/8/18 at 11:24 p.m., Ptl. Adam Riley arrested Raymond A. Johnson, 34 of Gladstone, NJ on strength of an active warrant. Johnson responded Madison Police Department Headquarters to turn himself on two active warrants totaling $2000.00, stemming from Madison and Hanover Twp. Courts. Johnson was later turned over to Morris County Sheriff’s Department in lieu of bail.

On 1/11/18 at 1:20 a.m., Ptl. Nelson Jimenez arrested Boatran H. Nguyen, 19 of Madison, NJ. Madison Police was alerted by Kutztown, PA regarding a Madison resident, Nguyen, who was wanted on an outstanding warrant for felony burglary in their jurisdiction. Madison Police confirmed the warrant and located Nguyen, who was later arrested on strength of the “no bail” warrant. Nguyen was later transported to Morris County Jail where she is awaiting extradition to Berks County, PA Correctional Facility.

On 1/12/18 at 12:46 a.m., Ptl. Nelson Jimenez arrested Nikhil Tandon, 27 of Newark, NJ. Ptl. Jimenez stopped Tandon on Park Avenue for being a suspended driver. Upon speaking with Tandon, it was determined that he also had three outstanding warrants totaling $1000.00. The warrants totaled $1325.00 and they were confirmed. He was transported to Madison Police Headquarters where he advised that he could not post bail. He was later turned over to Chatham Borough Police Department in lieu of bail.

On 1/12/18 at 9:47 p.m., Ptl. Nelson Jimenez arrested David A. McMahon, 22 of Madison, NJ. Patrols were dispatched to McMahon’s Madison Avenue residence for an assault that took place. After an investigation, he was arrested and charged with Simple Assault, a disorderly person’s offense. He was later released pending a court appearance in Madison Municipal Court.

On 1/14/18 at 12:51 p.m., Ptl. Julian Morales arrested Asia S. Lynn, 26 of Newark, NJ. Lynn was stopped on Main Street for an equipment violation. After an investigation, it was determined that there were signs of drug use present in her vehicle. She was found to be in possession of suspected marijuana and marijuana edibles, and was arrested on scene. Lynn was charged with 4th degree Possession of Hash over 5 grams, Possession of Marijuana under 50 grams and Possession of drug paraphernalia (both disorderly person’s offenses). She was additionally issued motor vehicle summonses for Maintenance of Lamps and Possession of CDS in a motor vehicle. She was later released pending court appearance in Morris County Superior Court.

On 1/15/18 at 11:38 a.m., Sgt. James Cavezza arrested Joshua M. Kitson, 25 of North Brunswick, NJ. Sgt. Cavezza stopped Kitson’s vehicle on Main Street for an expired inspection sticker. Upon further investigation, it was determined that Kitson had an outstanding traffic warrant in the amount of $339.00, issued from Mansfield Twp. Court. The warrant confirmed and Kitson was placed under arrest and transported back to Madison Police Headquarters. Kitson posted full bail and was released pending a court appearance.

On 1/18/18 at 12:43 a.m., Ptl. Adam Riley arrested Fernan Arcila- 21 of Madison, NJ and Patrick E. Dugan-22 of Morristown, NJ. Ptl. Riley stopped Dugan’s vehicle for equipment violations on Harwood Drive. After an investigation, both Arcila and Dugan was found to be in possession of CDS. Both were arrested and charged with the following: Dugan was charged with Possession of marijuana under 50 grams (disorderly person’s offense). He was additionally issued motor vehicle summonses for having an unregistered vehicle, maintenance of lamps, and for Possession of CDS in a motor vehicle. Dugan was released pending a court appearance in Madison Municipal Court. Arcila was charged with Possession of Hash under 5 grams and Possession of drug paraphernalia. He was later released and transported to Morris County Jail pending a court appearance in Morris County Superior Court.

On 1/21/18 at 12:48 a.m., Ptl. Ryan Dunn arrested Richard W. Eastman-20 of Denville, NJ and Richard A. Clark-44 of Morris Plains, NJ. Ptl. Dunn stopped Clark’s vehicle on Route 24 for an equipment violations. Upon inspection of the vehicle, Ptl. Dunn observed obvious signs of drug use in plain view. After an investigation, Clark and Eastman both were found to be in possession of CDS. Clark was arrested and charged with Possession of under 5 grams THC oil, Possession of marijuana under 50 grams, and Possession of drug paraphernalia-all are disorderly person’s offenses. He was additionally issued a mtoor vehicle summons for Maintenance of Lamps. Eastman was charged with Possession of under 5 grams THC oil and Possession of drug paraphernalia, both disorderly person’s offenses. Both defendants were released pending a court appearance in Madison Municipal Court.
