Police made multiple arrests in the past several weeks.

MADISON, NJ — Madison police made multiple arrests between June 7 and July 11, including for drugs and simple assault. You can read about those arrests, as written by police, here.
On 6/7/18 at 11:57pm, Ptl. Matthew Mirabella arrested Michael Migliorino, 57 of Milford, NJ. Ptl. Mirabella stopped Migliorino on Madison Avenue following the driver operating his vehicle through a closed construction site. Ptl. Mirabella observed signs of intoxication and requested the driver to perform field sobriety evaluations on the roadside. He was arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated, DWI within 1,000 feet of a School Zone, and Careless Driving. He was later released to a family member pending a court date at Madison Municipal Court.
On 6/12/18 at 11:36pm, Ptl. Nelson Jimenez arrested Wayne A. Bennett, 22 of East Orange, NJ. Ptl. Jimenez was dispatched to Stop and Shop Supermarket for a shoplifting. Upon arrival, Ptl. Jimenez met with Stop and Shop- Loss Prevention Unit who had Mr. Bennett in custody after witnessing him concealing items to steal. Mr. Bennett allegedly concealed approximately $100.00 worth of groceries and he was arrested on scene. He was charged with Shoplifting (Disorderly Person’s Offense) and during processing he found to have $1500.00 warrant out of East Orange Court for simple assault. The warrant was confirmed and he was later released to East Orange Police Department pending a court appearance in Madison Municipal Court.

On 6/14/18 at 12:54am, Ptl. Jimenez arrested Guillermo Benites, 28 of Madison, NJ. Madison Police Department was aware of an outstanding criminal arrest warrant for Benites, stemming from terroristic threats in Wharton, NJ. Officers met with Benites at his Main Street residence and advised him of the warrant and placed him under arrest. He was transported to Madison Police Department for processing and later turned over to the Wharton Police Department, without incident.
On 6/22/18 at 1:33am, Cpl. Bart Glab arrested Maciej F. Bogdzio, 19 of Plainfield, NJ. Cpl. Glab stopped Bogdzio’s vehicle on Route 24 for an equipment violation. Upon speaking with the driver, Cpl. Glab observed obvious signs of drug use present within the vehicle. Cpl. Glab also found the driver to have a $750.00 criminal arrest warrant out of Springfield Twp. Court. After a search of the vehicle, Cpl. Glab located several hypodermic needles and various items of drug paraphernalia. Bogdzio was arrested on scene and charged with Possession of Drug Paraphernalia and Possession of Hypodermic Syringes, both being disorderly person’s offenses. Bogdzio satisfied the warrant by posting full bail and he was released pending a court appearance in Madison Municipal Court.

On 6/25/18 at 11:00pm, Ptl. Julian Morales arrested Paulo Adelio Gomes Jr., 29 of East Stroudsburg, PA. Ptl. Morales stopped the driver for and equipment violation and immediately observed obvious signs of drug use within the vehicle. Upon further investigation, Ptl. Morales located an amount of suspected marijuana and drug paraphernalia. Gomes was arrested and charged with Possession of marijuana under 50 grams and possession of drug paraphernalia, both disorderly person’s offenses. He was additionally issued motor vehicle summonses for CDS in a motor vehicle. Gomes was released pending a court appearance in Madison Municipal Court.
On 6/29/18 at 3:14am, Cpl. Bart Glab and Ptl. Kyle McDermott arrested Peter O’Brien Cleaves, 22 of Madison, NJ. The officers stopped Cleaves’ vehicle on Main Street for moving violations. Upon meeting with Cleaves, officers detected an odor of an alcoholic beverage while speaking with him. Cleaves was asked to perform field sobriety evaluations and he was subsequently arrested for driving while intoxicated. Cleaves was charged with driving while intoxicated, DWI within 1,000 feet of a school, reckless driving, and careless driving. He was later released to a friend pending a court appearance in Madison Municipal Court.
On 7/1/18 at 9:32pm, Ptl. Matthew Mirabella arrested Melissa A. Ghisolfi, 40 of Madison, NJ. Madison Police was dispatched to a residence in the Madison Commons for a dispute. Upon arrival, Ptl. Mirabella met with Ghisolfi and another individual whom Ghisolfi is familiar with. The victim advised that Ghisolfi knowingly struck his vehicle, a 2012 Dodge Ram, with her vehicle causing damage. After an investigation, Ghisolfi was arrested and charged with criminal mischief (disorderly person’s offense). She was transported to Madison Police Department and processed accordingly. She was later released pending a court appearance in Madison Municipal Court.
On 7/4/18 at 2:17am, Ptl. Christopher Burans arrested Sean M. Reidy, 52 of Chatham, NJ. Ptl. Burans stopped Reidy on Main Street for a moving violation. Upon speaking with Reidy, it was determined that his driver’s license was suspended and he had an outstanding warrant out of Hillside Court for $250.00. Also, in plain view officers observed drug paraphernalia inside of the vehicle. Following an investigation, officers located suspected cocaine, heroin, and various drug paraphernalia inside of the vehicle. Reidy was arrested and charged with the following; possession of heroin (third degree crime), possession of cocaine (third degree crime), possession of prescription legend drug (fourth degree), possession of drug paraphernalia in violation of N.J.S.A. Title 2C:36-2 a disorderly persons offense, failing to surrender a controlled dangerous substance (disorderly persons offense), and possessing prescription legend drug outside of its proper container (disorderly persons offense). He was released to Morris County Sheriff’s Department and lodged in the Morris County Jail, awaiting his court appearance in Morris County Superior Court. Morris County Sheriff’s K9 Unit assisted in this investigation.
On 7/6/18 at 3:43pm, Det. Kenneth Shannon arrested Joyell J. Goad, 41 of Madison, NJ. Det. Shannon was investigating an incident where Goad was suspected in passing a bad check at a Madison business in the amount of $833.00, beginning in February 2018. Madison Detectives generated an arrest warrant for the pending criminal charges and Det. Shannon located Goad in her Main Street apartment. She was arrested without incident and transported to Madison Police Department for processing. Goad was charged with 4 th degree Bad Checks. During the investigation, Goad was also found to be wanted on an active $750.00 arrest warrant out of Garwood Municipal Court for Bad Checks. She was later served with her Madison charges and released pending her court appearance in Madison Municipal Court.
On 7/11/18 3:05pm, Det. Kenneth Shannon and Cpl. Bart Glab arrested Nichole N. Brown, 27 of Union, NJ. Madison officers stopped Brown on Kings Road following an investigation into her involvement in the alleged sales of narcotics in Madison, NJ. After meeting with Brown, officers located various amounts of suspected marijuana packaged for sales, along with prescription pills. Brown was arrested on scene and charged with possession with intent to distribute marijuana within 500 feet of public (2 nd degree crime), possession with intent to distribute over an ounce of (3 rd degree crime), possession of a schedule III narcotic (3 rd degree crime), possession of over fifty grams of marijuana (4 th degree crime), and possession of drug paraphernalia in violation of N.J.S.A. (disorderly persons offense). She was later released transferred to the Morris County Jail pending her court appearance in Morris County Superior Court.
