Drunk Driver Almost Strikes Cyclist: Madison Police

Gregory P. More was arrested after a motor vehicle stop, authorities said.

MADISON, NJ - A 65-year-old Madison man was arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated after a motor vehicle stop on March 16, according to the Madison Police Department.

According to authorities, Patrolman Jerald Mantone responded to a call for an erratic driver that had almost struck a bicyclist on Rosedale Avenue. The witness described the vehicle as a grey Honda SUV. Shortly thereafter, Mantone located the suspect vehicle which was being operated by Gregory P. More, police said.

Mantone observed signs of impairment and asked More to perform field sobriety evaluations and he was subsequently placed under arrest for driving while intoxicated, police said.

He was eventually released pending a court appearance in Madison Municipal Court.
