Drunk Driver Flips Ford Onto Lawn: Madison Police
Jose D. Gavilanes was charged with driving while intoxicated, according to police.
MADISON, NJ - A 40-year-old Summit man was arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated after crashing his car on Brittin Street.
According to authorities, Patrolman Matt Mirabella was dispatched to Brittin Street for a one-car motor vehicle crash and upon arrival, he observed a red Ford Explorer on the front lawn of residence after overturning.
Mirabella saw Jose D. Gavilanes standing outside of the vehicle and uninjured and during the investigation Madison officers reported that they observed signs of impairment with Gavilanes, police said.

Gavilanes was asked to perform field sobriety evaluations and was subsequently arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated and careless driving, police said.
He was later released to a friend pending a court appearance in Madison Municipal Court.
