Classes Will Help Kids Get a Jump Start

The Learning Lab is now enrolling for fall classes. Students of all ages can choose from a wide variety of classes, schedules and times.

For Pre-Schoolers, the center offers literacy, phonics, math and handwriting classes, designed to help develop important readiness skills.

For Kindergarten age students, choices include: Phonics Factory 2 or  Math Masters, which meet two days per week, or a half-day Kindergarten Enrichment program. Students enrolled in these classes will work on developing math and reading skills through fun, thematic activities.

Grade school students can enroll in math or reading & writing classes, designed to enhance learning through innovative projects and interesting themes.

Classes will begin in mid-September and are limited to 6 students. All classes are taught by state certified teachers. "It is important to note that in some learning centers, tutors are not certified teachers. Some are not even college educated. At the Learning Lab, we believe that our teachers must be experts in what they are teaching," says Polly Scott, the center director. "They must be appropriately certified in order to work here."
