Identity and Class in Two Emerging Global Powers: Brazil and India

The 28th annual Summer Seminar Series co-sponsored by the Madison Public Library and the Madison Senior Center continues on Monday, August 6th at 2:00pm.  Dr. Allan C. Dawson, Assistant Professor of Anthropology at Drew University, will address two emerging superpowers and BRIC countries: Brazil and India, and how their colonial pasts impact their economic and social present, including how these two giant democracies deal with the cleavages and social forces that exist within their own societies.

This is the 9th of 10 seminars held on Monday afternoons at 2pm and Thursday mornings at 10:30am between July 9th and August 9th.  The seminars are free and open to the public.  Seating is first come, first serve.   The room will open approximately 30 minutes prior to the event.  For more information, contact the library at (973) 377-0722, Ext. 2.
