
Madison artist James Patrick Reid is one of ten artists to be featured in the New Classicism art exhibition, opening at the Therese A. Maloney Art Gallery in the Annunciation Center at the College of Saint Elizabeth. The exhibition explores the influence of classical Greek and Roman ideas on contemporary artists. All are invited to attend the reception for the artists on Thursday, January 21 from 4:30 to 7 p.m. The show remains on view until March 5.
On Tuesday, February 23, at 7 p.m., the public is invited to a free panel presentation New Classicism in Literature, Music, Philosophy and Visual Art. The discussion, lead by CSE faculty members, will explore areas where classical ideals have shaped subsequent art forms. The talks include include power point presentations and live music.
