Flyer Breaks Madison 800 Meter Record at Meet of Champions

Four Dodgers had qualified for meet.

Four members of the Madison High School winter track team qualified for the Meet of Champions this year: senior runner Kyle Flyer, junior pole vaulter Aaron Shinn, junior high jumper R.J. Graddy, and junior runner Melissa Iskandar. Of the four, only Flyer, Shinn, and Graddy competed at the meet. Iskandar had other obligations.

Flyer broke the Madison High School record in the 800 meters at the Meet of Champions, with a time of 2:01.23, and Aaron Shinn's pole-vault tied his personal best, hitting the 12 feet and 6 inches mark.

"We didn't have any boys make it to the Meet of Champions last year, so having three make it this year was a lot better," said winter track coach Mark LaDolcetta.
