Free Program - Attracting Women & Minorities To STEM Careers - 3/4 7PM
A view of STEM careers with respect to women & minorities. Discusses some programs that are available to encourage interest.
Celebrate Women’s History month by attending a free in person program on, Attracting Women and Minorities to STEM Careers on March 4, 2024 at 7:00PM. The program is being offered by AAUW Madison Area branch and is being held at the Florham Park Library. Members of the public are welcome to attend. Advance reservations are not needed.
The speaker is Distinguished Toastmaster Cyndi Wilson. Cyndi's interest in science and technology started when she was in elementary school when women and minorities were actively discouraged from following technical careers. However, that did not stop her from moving forward and making strides in her pursuit of a different path for her life.
Cyndi is a three-time graduate of New Jersey Institute of Technology and holds a BS in Chemical Engineering, a MS in Management and an MBA in Technology Management. She also holds a Master’s Certificate in Commercial Project Management from George Washington University and a certificate in Diversity, Equity and Inclusion from Cornell University. She is a member of the NJIT Board of Visitors for the Women in Engineering Group and is a certified Project Management Professional (PMP).

Cyndi is also a 15-year member of Toastmasters International and has held leadership positions at club, district and international levels in the organization. Toastmasters International is a nonprofit educational organization that builds confidence and teaches public speaking skills through a worldwide network of clubs that meet online and in person.
