Gala Art Banner Exhibit & Auction
Sidewalk Gallery Art Banners Gala Art Banner Auction Friday, October 17 7pm at the historic Hartley Dodge Memorial Building

Bringing together the arts, culture and local history is a primary endeavor of the Madison Arts & Culture Alliance. And through a partnership with the Downtown Development Commission, this convergence of art and history will be the highlight of an exceptional evening on Friday, October 17 and we invite you to join us for the second annual Gala Art Auction at the historic Hartley Dodge Memorial Building. The evening will include music and refreshments and will culminate in the auctioning of twenty-four original art banners created by some of New Jersey’s most accomplished and talented artists. The history component to the evening, as a nod to New Jersey’s 350th anniversary and Madison’s 125th, will be presentations at 7:30 and 8:30 by John Lamb’s Artillery Company, an educational organization dedicated to recreating and reliving the experiences of the American Revolution era. The demonstration will feature a firing of their 18th century replica cannon!
The vibrant and beautiful art banners that will be up for auction, have been on exhibit throughout downtown Madison. On October 17 all will be on display at the Hartley Dodge Memorial giving everyone an opportunity to bid on their favorite. Last year’s event was exciting and entertaining, and this year we expect even more fast paced bidding on these incredible works of art.
The evening will begin at 7pm with John Land’s Artillery Company’s cannon demonstration on the front lawn of the Hartley Dodge Memorial. A ticketed VIP Preview, with an opportunity to meet the artists will occur from 7pm-8pm. The general public is invited at 8pm to join in the bidding.
