Galley U Boutique, a combination of a fully functional art space and shopping boutique located at
439 South Avenue West in Westfield, NJ, is proud to host “Student Life”, a special exhibition in March 2015 that will feature the artwork of high school students from Union, Essex and Somerset Counties. Submissions are now being accept through February 9, 2015. Various mediums and artistic styles that represent the broad spectrum of work by high school students will be considered. Submission guidelines are available at http://gallery-u.blogspot.com/p/student-life-2015-artist-guidelines.html.

“Student Life” will serve as a fundraiser for school art departments. For each piece that sells during the exhibition, 50% of the retail price will be paid to the artist and the remaining 50% will be donated to the art department of the school the artist represents. Gallery U will host an opening reception on March 6, 2015, for artists, their family and friends. The event will be open to the public. Artwork will be exhibited through April 6, 2015.

To supplement this exhibition, Gallery U will be highlighting the literary talents of Union, Essex and Somerset County high school students at their monthly reading series Poetry U on March 27, 2015. Students wishing to participate in this event should send three sample pieces to Robert Langdon at rlangdongalleryu@gmail.com.
