General Election Showdown Set In Madison
Mayor and council positions are up for grabs come November.
MADISON, NJ - The campaign season can now begin in earnest as a quiet, uncontested primary has given way to races for Madison Mayor and Council this November in the general election.
Democratic Mayor Robert Conley of Brittin Street earned his party's nomination in Tuesday's primary. Conley garnered 584 votes or 98.83 percent of the total votes cast. He will be opposed by Republican Robert G. Catalanello of Woodland Road, who received his party's nomination for mayor in the primary with 525 votes or 98.68 percent of the votes cast.
As for the race for council, Democrat Maureen Byrne of Albright Circle is looking to retain her seat and is joined by Rachel F. Ehrlich of Kings Road as both earned their party's nomination in the primary Tuesday. Byrne nabbed 574 or 50.31 percent of the vote while Ehrlich earned 567 or 49.69 percent of the votes.

The Democrats will square off against Patrick Rowe of Pine Avenue who is seeking to keep his seat on the dais and is joined by Kathy Daily of West End Avenue as they earned their party's nomination in the primary. Rowe garnered 532 or 50.05 percent of the vote while Daily got 529 or 49.76 percent of the vote.
All results are unofficial until certified by the County clerk.

The general election is scheduled for Tuesday, Nov. 5.
