Get Crazy Creative at Free Art Open House Today
Summit's Visual Arts Center has 11 free workshops.

The Visual Arts Center of New Jersey’s first-ever For Art’s Sake Weekend will culminate with a free Open House for the entire community today, April 3, from 12 - 4 p.m.
Participants of all ages can get creative in 11 different workshops and demonstrations, including graffiti drawing on paper, wire clay people and photographing families, and take a chance on a 50-50 raffle. Kid-friendly fare will be provided by the GARAGE Burgers & Fries of Millburn.
Segunda Qumbamba, a percussion and dance ensemble, will provide the afternoon’s entertainment by bringing Puerto Rico’s traditional Bomba and Plena drum music and dance to Summit. Founded by director Juan Cartagena and his wife, Nanette Hernández, in 1989, the ensemble is based at the Segunda Quimbamba Folkloric Center in Jersey City, where it runs music and dance workshops. The troupe regularly participates in concerts, festivals, parades, and workshops throughout the New Jersey metropolitan area.
