Madison Boys Stay Unbeaten

Gilbert's 18 points fuel Dodgers past Hanover Park.

The Madison boys basketball team’s season-long winning streak kept rolling on Thursday, as senior Matt Gilbert led a 50-38 win over conference rival Hanover Park in Madison, improving the Dodgers record to 7-0 this season. 

Gilbert was a key in extending the Dodger win streak with an 18-point, five-rebound, five-block performance. The senior also added three assists and two steals, helping Madison to a 27-16 halftime lead.

Cameron Dias finished with nine points and Sean Haughey added eight for Madison. Matt Williams netted 13 points for Hanover Park (3-4).

Girls Fall at Hanover Park

A 17-point, 13-rebound day from Hanover Park’s Lauren Daugherty helped propel the Hanover Park girls basketball team past Madison, 57-25, on Thursday in East Hanover.

For the second-straight game the Madison girls struggled early, allowing Hanover Park to open with a 13-point first quarter lead.

A 14-2 third quarter run by the Hornets-fueled by a combined 25 points from Meghan Maquire and Maria Santora- secured the win and improved Hanover Park to 5-3 on the season.  

Tori Ellis finished with 10 points for Madison (1-6).
