Giraldo, Clemente Help Madison Past Hanover Park

Girls volleyball improves to 11-1 with win.

Two Madison High teams took home wins on Wednesday, while the field hockey team dropped just its second game of 2011.

Boys Soccer Improves to 6-3

Danny Giraldo’s second half goal helped the Madison boys soccer team to a 2-0 win over Hanover Park (5-20 on Thursday in Madison, according to head coach Frank Nunez.

Giraldo’s goal, a header in the 44th minute from Mike Clemente, preceded Clemente’s second assist –a Tyler Schlesinger goal in the 76th minute-which put Madison up 2-0.

Dodger goalie Matt Gilbert had three saves, recording his fifth shutout of 2011. Madison improved to 6-3 with the win.

Girls Volleyball Rolls Past Mt. Olive

Led by Kate Taylor’s eight kills and four digs, the Madison girls volleyball team improved to 11-1 on Thursday in Madison, as they stopped Mount Olive (12-2) 2-0, according to NJ.com.

Field Hockey Suffers Second Loss of 2011

Despite two goals from Michelle Montagna, and another from Tori Ellis, the Madison field hockey team fell to Shore, 6-3, according to NJ.com. Madison is 8-2 this season.
