Girl Scout Silver Award - Community Drive: Sports Equipment

Donate your new or gently used sports equipment to benefit children and organizations in need.

Chatham Girl Scouts, Gianna Latorre and Sarah Delaney, have begun a sports equipment collection program as part of their Silver Award project, working in partnership with Let’s Play It Forward ( http://www.letsplayitforward.org/ ), a not-for-profit 501(c)(3) organization founded in 2012 by a group of teens from Westchester, NY. Let’s Play It Forward collects and donates used sports equipment to children and organizations in need. To date Let’s Play It Forward has collected and donated 39,061 pieces of gently used sports equipment.

Sarah and Gianna are also working with the Madison Area YMCA as part of their Silver Award project and will be collecting the donated equipment in the front lobby of the Madison Area YMCA’s Family Center, April 17 through May 1. Both girls will also be participating in the Healthy Kids Day at the YMCA on Saturday April 29th and will answering questions about the Let’s Play It Forward organization, the Girl Scouts, and their Silver Award program.

Collection Dates: Monday, April 17 – Monday May 1
