Gordie Came a Long Way to Meet You

Now is the time to adopt a pet at St. Hubert's.

Looking to adopt a puppy, dog or cat? Then head for St. Hubert's Animal Welfare Center in Madison, where the nationally-recognized shelter handles more than 4,000 adoptions each year. All animals are vaccinated, neutered and bathed prior to being placed, following a careful matching process designed to foster a relationship that's beneficial for animal and adopter, and one that will endure for the lifetime of the animal. For more information, call 973-377-2295 or click on http://www.sthuberts.org.

Here are just a few of the shelter residents available for adoption:

  • Gordie: This four-year-old lab/husky mix came to Madison from a shelter in West Virginia. Active and affectionate, Gordie sometimes gets a little excited and can become rambunctious, so is best suited for a home without small children. He likes other dogs and enjoys running around with them. He has not had any formal training, so a basic obedience class at St Hubert's would be a good idea.
  • Calvin: This domestic short hair-white mix male is nine years old, and is looking for a home without other pets. He is a front-declaw, so you don't have to worry about him scratching your furniture. He has one blue and one green eye, which isn't unusual for white cats but is still pretty cool.
  • Misty: This Siberian husky mix came to the shelter locally, along with her best friend, Luna. They would really like to be adopted together, but could get along quite nicely with a home to themselves. Misty is active and playful, a breed that requires plenty of daily exercise. Misty would also benefit from some type of basic obedience training, and will not be placed that has a cat. May be a bit too active for a home with children.
  • 7: This domestic short hair male loves attention. He is full of spirit and loves to play. Come for a visit and you'll fall in love.
  • Bam Bam: This two-year-old pit bull terrier mix is active and playful. He has a lot of energy and will need a good amount of exercise every day to stay happy, healthy and out of mischief. He is starting to get the hang of housebreaking and will just need a little help with that when you bring him home. He has learned to sit when asked, and has a sweet personality and loves attention. Please bring all human and canine members of your family with you so we can be sure that we will all get along.
